THE FARM BARGE

Sloping green-tinted waves push the great red "FARM BARGE" across the rolling sea. Equipped with a green deck, lush vegetable sprouts pushing up from a myriad of folky raised beds, this repurposed ship is a futuristic and self-sustainable mobile farmland. A daydream invention, the "FARM BARGE" idealizes resourcefulness.

"FARM BARGE" is printed from 4 woodblocks (yellow, red, blue, and black) onto Ivory White Somerset paper. Paper size is a standard 16" x 20". Edition size of 100 prints. Pre-order intro rate still available for a limited time HERE and in our ETSY.

Introducing a new little print in our ongoing LIFE OF LEISURE Woodcut Series ~ "LEAF BOAT!" Printed from two hand-drawn, hand-carved woodblocks in a crisp blue green and rich sanguine brown onto Ivory Somerset paper. A looped elm leaf sail and a cupped, spike-edged oak leaf are pinched together by a small curving stick in this joyful image of a simply built, makeshift toy boat. Two smaller, delicate leaves stand in for a flag and an oar tip!

Just released in our online shop! New 4 block woodcut print "LIVING ROOM" is a peaceful image of a cozy room woven of natural materials with earthen, collected accessories. The title of this print, "LIVING ROOM", refers to both the room as a personalized place in which to live, and also serves to describe all of the gathered organic items that make up this particular room.

The colorful vista at the center of the image looks upon a steeply rising dusty pink and lilac mountain. Imagine yourself in this quaint, baskety escape!

Its a little escape to go to whenever you want. The upside and downside is that there aren't any neighbors.

A gently rounded door creaks open to reveal the glowing, day-lit interior of of this pleasant little tree room. A simple image bringing to mind the fantasies of youth and secret, special places of retreat and contemplation. A closed book rests on the knotted loop of an old tangled root. The texture of the inside of the tree rises up along the walls and flows like an undulating woven mat along the earthen floor. Printed in Mint Green + Honey Ochre on Ivory Somerset Paper.

"House Tree" was featured on Martha Stewart's Craft Dept. Blog in a how to about woodblock printing that Tugboat Printshop put together this past December, 2010.

HOUSE TREE PRINTED

Just finished printing up this little "House Tree" print we put together for Martha Stewart's Crafts Dept. Blog as a 2 color woodblock print ~ soon for sale online in our various shops! Fresh, minty green was printed first, the second block overlaying with rich honey gold ochre detail. Printed on Ivory Somerset Paper, sized 9" x 7".

Beginning the cutting on the 24" x 32" light blue block for "America the Beautiful." Just one more block to cut after this one and we can start proofing. Yay!

Just as a brief FYI, this print is currently available for pre-order on our website. The price will go up when we wrap up the color printing and replace the black + white stand-in proof with a picture of the finished, full color print! So, if you're looking for a whopper of a deal, there's about a week or so left to order this print at the pre-order rate.
