The finished "FIREPIT" print! A 12" x 10.5" color woodcut print on Ivory Somerset Paper (printed from 2 blocks). Part of a new 4 woodcut set, "THE FOUR ELEMENTS".
The red hot coals of this masterly stoked "FIREPIT" cast a deep orange glow. Smoke tendrils ribbon and wisp upwards from the flames. Skewered mushrooms and onions sizzle and crispen while a lidded iron cook pot simmers in the flame tips. Aromas from the feast mix with trails of twirling smoke. Rich blue harkens evening, dusklight a rainbow of orange to pink to blue.
