AQUIFER WOODCUT

The "AQUIFER" woodcut! When we began this print back in August, we began the entire "THE FOUR ELEMENTS" series. Our ideas for what each element would be changed quite a bit during the project…

The "AQUIFER" represents the element 'Water'. Fat blue raindrops plunk down through the sky, soak into the vibrant green earth, seep around stone, and trickle out as crystal clear waterfalls. An old well dips its long rope into the recess and retrieves a bountiful, dripping bucket.

THE ELEMENTS: AIR

Ahhhhh… Air. Just finished drawing in the last of the whipping winds on the 4th print in our new woodcut Elements series late last night. Apparently, air is the element associated with thought. Many, many thoughts were swirling around in the many hours it took to complete this image, so it all seems very appropriate. 

Now that all four Elements have their key blocks, it's time to begin transferring & color planning. Color will be 2 tones (3 total colors per print). Excited!
