TUGBOAT'S PRINTSHOP, PITTSBURGH

Inside our little home-sweet-home printshop in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh. Where we print all of our woodcut print editions, on a 36" x 60" Conrad etching press. It's a small, tidy space and we make the most of it! The bulk of our carving we do down in our basement headquarters, photos of that to come. Maybe.

THE "RUBY RED ROSE" PRINT

For beauties, loves, dears & romantics, the "RUBY RED ROSE" woodcut! Triumphant blazing blossoms are forever captured in their loveliest bloom. A striking combination of vibrant ruby red and satin-y chocolate brown are printed from two hand-crafted woodblocks onto 14" x 11" Natural Kitakata paper to make the finished "RUBY RED ROSE". Edition size is 100 prints.

Orders for the "RUBY RED ROSE" can be placed here!

This image is printed by hand, by the artists, from this block & this block.

LAST TO PRESS

Printing the final run, the key block, on the golden "MOTH" print. This paper has been really neat to print on, very thin & translucent, fluttery like insect wings, but STRONG! In the top photo you can see the ink coming through a bit. Next shows the pulling up of the paper from the inked block after a run through the press. And, last photo, the block & the finished print. Photo of the print all done? HERE!

PRINTING "CRYSTAL SKULL"

The new 8" x 8" "CRYSTAL SKULL" woodcut edition is printed and ready to go!

On Natural Kitakata paper, edition of 100 prints. Get a copy of your very own HERE.
